Job Description

Sackett Systems is currently seeking a full-time Painter to join our team in Bensenville, IL, conveniently located near O’Hare Airport. A Painter is an integral part of our manufacturing team, building the frames of our high-quality, robust battery changing equipment and systems.

The painter prepare product for painting and paints for complete and consistent coverage. Maintains paint booth in a clean and functional state. Maintains painting supplies in a safe and organized manner. Completes work in a safe and timely manner. One to two years of prior industrial painting experience.

This position reports to the Production Foreman

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares product for painting and paints for complete and consistent coverage.
  • Maintains paint booth and PPE in a clean and functional state.
  • Maintains painting supplies in a safe and organize manner.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures on equipment.
  • Performs cleaning/grinding function as assigned.
  • Performs light assembly as assigned.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Punches in and out of work orders accurately.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; certificate or Associates Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of painting process and safety
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate in English

  • Ability to use power hand tools as required
  • Must be able to communicate with others 
  • Must be able to follow and understand instructions
  • Ability to work Safe and knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints
  • Attention to detail

Employment Type & Work Environment

  • Full-time; 6:45 A.M. – 3:15 P.M.
  • Industry: Manufacturing, Material Handling, Warehouse
  • Warehouse environment requiring safety glasses, steel toed shoes; hearing protection is recommended
  • No direct reports

Employee will be subject to warehouse environment, cold temperatures of 40 degrees , and will be required to wear jacket. Noise levels of 90 decibels can be reached at certain times. Can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles while in manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
